The Head-Up Display (HUD) directly presents key information such as vehicle speed, navigation directions, and other alerts within the driver's line of sight, reducing the danger caused by distractions. Initially used in fighter jets for military purposes, HUD now plays a critical role in automotive human-machine interfaces (HMI).
HUD displays information within the driver’s field of view, so they do not have to look down at the dashboard or auxiliary displays, keeping their attention on the road. If equipped with a windshield HUD, the driver can see a virtual image "floating" about 1.5 to 2 meters above the hood.
